Bank Holiday Breaks, Social Networking Sites & Home Insurance
The summer season is nearly upon us and, with this wonderful weather, you may already be thinking about whether or not to take a break over one of the bank holiday weekends in May. If you do then it will inevitably rain unless you choose to catch the first plane across the channel (volcanic ash allowing of course!). However, you should make sure that you take the appropriate precautions if you do.
For example, make sure that you do not compromise your home insurance by advertising your absence on social networking sites!
Over the past year or so, more and more people have begun updating their statuses to reflect where they are in the world or confirm when they are going on holiday so everyone can see when their homes are going to be empty. Not surprisingly, home insurance providers are starting to check profiles to make sure that this is not the reason behind break ins. Protect your home and your premiums and keep your mouth shut until you get back!
