According the the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), one in every ten cars has at least one illegal tyre in terms of the tread depth. Bald tyres were rarely a feature of those cars on the road a few decades ago but they seem to be a staple today because people are struggling to avoid maintenance costs. However, this could damage your ability to get a hold of cheap car insurance in no time at all.
Another car insurance provider found that almost 50% of all motorists had cut corners on maintenance since the start of the recession to the point at which the roads prove to be a major danger for all drivers on the road thus jeopardising cheap car insurance and this has also caused a greater number of MOT failures. This just proves that the costs associated with cutting corners is much higher than we often think. Human life is not worth it.
